About 3rdthought

The 3rdthought Arts Collective was founded in 2010. It started in 1987 as an over 60′s drama class based at Mary Ward Centre, London, working with Director Peter Avery and Producer Maxine Webster of 1st Framework.

3rdthought CIC was established in 2016 "in order to provide benefit to older people, including those whose health and wellbeing are at risk by reason of disability and/or social isolation, through the exemplary quality and range of its public performances and distance electronic media, and thereby challenge, and raise, society's expectations of the capabilities and the potential quality of life of older people generally."

"The work challenges every historical stereotype about the contemporary arts and a generation supposedly reluctant to embrace it", Royal Court / Barclays New Stages
"I admire the groups determination to lay claim to their futures in diverse and creative ways", Dr Alan Read, Kings College London
